Hotel Stay with a refrigerator and a microwave. Jackpot!

The ideal situation for a hotel stay: having a refrigerator and a microwave!  For hotel rooms that don’t have microwaves in the room, they should have one in the hotel lobby that you have access to use. Here are some easy ideas on what to take with you so you don’t spend all your money eating out!

Breakfast grabs for when the free buffet just isn’t your thing:

  • Muffins, yogurt and fruit.
  • Microwavable oatmeal, packs or cups.
  • Breakfast sandwiches

Make a variation of breakfast ahead of time and stick them in the freezer. Lauren Allen does these over at Tastes Better From Scratch: https://tastesbetterfromscratch.com/freezer-breakfast-    sandwiches/

Easy Lunch and Dinner make ahead deliciousness:

Veggie wraps or leftover rotisserie chicken wraps. If you don’t have a good rotisserie seasoning, this one is excellent:

1/4 cup salt

2 Tbl paprika

1 Tbl onion powder

1 Tbl dried thyme

1 Tbl white pepper

1 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

1 1/2 tsp black pepper

1 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Freeze them and when thawed, wrap in a tortilla with some cheese, avocado, and salsa.

  • Pasta Salad

Cook your favorite noodles ahead of time and package up your favorite chopped veggies, cheese cubes, and meat. Take a bottle of Itailian Dressing along and you got instant salads. Rotinin           is a good noodle for this type of salad. Black olives, mini pepperoni’s or salami can be great additions as well.

Skip the vending machine snacks and drinks:

In addition to the obvious carbo-loaded snacks, try mini yogurt parfaits, cheese and crackers and fruit with a nut butter.

And since you have a refrigerator, take your favorite cold beverages with you or pick them up at a grocery store near you before you let the vending machine eat your money.
